SEATTLE INDIAN SERVICES COMMISSION
MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING
April 10, 2001
The Tuesday, April 10, 2001 meeting of the Seattle Indian Services Commission was called to order by Ms. Chappell, Vice-chair at 5:30pm.


Present were:
Jack N. Richards, Commissioner Seattle Indian Center
Lillian Chappell, Commissioner American Indian Women’s Service League
Constance Griffin, Commissioner American Indian Women’s Service League
Terry Danysh, Commissioner Seattle Indian Health Board
Rosalee Walz, Commissioner Seattle Indian Health Board
Absent:
Marty Bluewater, Commissioner United Indians of All Tribes Foundation (UIATF)
Carl Elliott, Commissioner Seattle Indian Center-(arrived at 6:00pm)
Augustine McCaffery, Commissioner United Indians of All Tribes Foundation

AGENDA ITEMS:
1. Approval of Minutes – The minutes of the March 20th, 2001 SISC Board meeting were discussed. Ms. Chappell requested a motion be made to approve the minutes as submitted. The motion was so moved by Ms. Walz and seconded by Ms. Griffin, the motion carried.
2. Executive Director’s Report –
Financial Reports –Ms. Chappell requested a motion to approve the financial reports. The motion was so moved by Ms. Walz and seconded by Mr. Richards, the motion carried.
Scholarship Request – There were no requests.
3. New Business
Earthquake damage - The damage estimates from Advance Constructions were given to the Board for review. Resolution - Designation of Applicant’s Agent and the Resolution authorizing the staff to apply for earthquake disaster assistance funds were discussed, Ms. Chappell requested a motion to approve both resolutions, so moved by Mr. Danysh, seconded by Mr. Richards, motion carried.
4. Old Business
Elections – The elections were tabled until the May meeting.
Economic Interest Statements – The statements are due into the City by April 13th. Statements are needed from Ms. McCaffery.
Annual Report –Tabled until the May meeting.
The April Board meeting of the Seattle Indian Services Commission was adjourned at 5:40pm.
